Monique Washirapunya ~ Pâtissiere

Monique has 20 years of experience working in the food and beverage industry. She has worked in all aspects of the culinary world ranging from resorts, restaurants, catering, and B&B's. Monique graduated at the top of her class from Indiana University of Pennsylvania Academy of Culinary Arts. She also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics from McDaniel College. During her time at McDaniel, Monique was an I~Fund Scholar and received a place on the National Dean's List. She graduated Cum Laude.

Monique has studied and worked with some of the finest chefs, always striving to meet and exceed their expectations. She started making wedding cakes for friends and family on the side. What started out as a way to make extra money and help those close to her turned into a full time job that included baking for all kinds of occasions and even providing desserts for restaurants and coffee shops. Monique's dedication and drive gave her the opportunity in late 2014 to open her own bakery in the square in Littlestown, just a short distance from where she raises her two young daughters.

"I feel blessed to have been given a talent which takes simple ingredients such as flour and sugar and transforms them into a work of art.  It is a true honor to bake for my community!" ~Monique
